The Telegraph UK - Live News App Reviews

Excellent

Perfect application for the news junkie. Clean interface, easy to navigate and a lot of news. Very good technolgy news section. Terms of Use agreement is just a standard TOU seen all over...nothing special about it or out of the ordinary. Worth the download.

The best news reader on the web

This is one of the best news readers I have found todate.

Crashes constantly

The app crashes almost every time you start it. Not worth the frustration.

Quick, even on 3G, beautiful design and great content

Has to be the best designed news app on iPhone. Quick. Elegant and distinctive design. Quality content, especially good in technology content for a mainstream paper. I think this app sets the gold standard for news.

Yo

Well designed but has neverending stability issues.

unstable app with iOS4.0

Have been using this app since it was first published. It worked great and delivered good content. Since upgrading to iOS4.0, the app has become unstable. It will open and about 2 seconds later, just close. Reopening it will result in the same pattern. Right now its not usable. Too bad, because the people at The Telegraph had a good thing going. Hope something pays attention and troubleshoots the problem and posts a fix.

Doesn

I used this app for months without issue until I upgraded to OS 4. Now it wont load - crashes a couple of seconds after you launch it. Have Googled extensively but cant find any indication from the Daily Telegraph that they know about this or when they plan to fix it. (When the Guardian app had problems a couple of months ago, a Guardian staff member immediately blogged about it.) So since it no longer runs, it cant be more than one star (zero isnt available).

Crashes now fixed

Still a great app. The fix in the latest version has stopped the crashes. The new interface looks great and is definitely faster. Nice going! Ive got one of my favorite apps back.

No links!

What was once a great news app is now full of bugs since the advent of iOS4. The crashes have been fixed and it has a shiny new interface but when you go to share a story via Twitter, Facebook or e-mail the link is missing! This defeats the object of sharing the news item. Please fix. Thanks.

Stability much better

Its a nice app

Unstable

Liked the old app better. This one looks much more wizbang but crashes nearly constantly. Requires about 3 restarts to get a decent amount of news out.

Quite buggy

Great interface and concept but this app is quite buggy. What a shame! Trying to link a story to Facebook resulted in an application error message. If you try to browse the stories again you get a blank screen even though the stories already downloaded. I fiddled with the settings but just couldnt get it to work properly. Please test and fix these issues because its a great app otherwise. Tested on iOS4.

Crap

Kept crashing; occasionally works; majority of the time you would be looking at a grey screen. Nice idea though and when it did work it was good hence two stars rather than a dismal one star

Big disappointment

Looks like a great app but crashes pretty much every time I install it on my iPhone 3GS with ios4.

Doesnt sync

This app was brilliant in the beginning, now it no longer syncs. What us going on????

Hopeful

Even a month ago I would have given it 4 stars, but now it wont reload any updated news. For what its worth, my favorite newspaper, but the software is far too buggy now and will just rely on downloading on to my computer until hopefully it gets fixed.

Cash Grab!

Do not update! You will need to pay each month to read! One less reader, well done telegraph!

Dont update

Version 4 moves to subscription. v3 was interesting to browse occasionally but marginal and certainly not worth paying for. Others provide better range of international news, advertising-supported. This is an archaic and limiting financial approach in the age of instant, international on-line media. Deleting... After 45 years reading, goodbye Telegraph.

One less Telegraph reader

Its interesting that in the description of Whats New in Version 4.0 no mention is made that The Telegraph is switching to a paid subscription model for its iPhone app. That is a business decision by The Telegraph; as a digital consumer I have also made a decision. I deleted the app.
